Animated explainer video maker

From brief to finished explainer, without the agency invoice.

An explainer video answers one question clearly in under two minutes. AutoScribble makes them from writing: describe the thing you need explained, read the narration script it drafts, edit it as much as you like for free, then choose the shape, voice, length and whether your logo appears. Around ten minutes later you have a narrated animated video as an MP4, private to your account, ready to download, send as a private link or post with a caption.

New accounts: one free 30-second video with 50 welcome credits. Download included. Longer videos use paid credits.

Free to write and rewrite. Credits are only used when you generate.

What makes an explainer work

Three things, in order: one idea, plain words and a clear next step. Videos that try to cover a whole product tend to be forgotten; videos that answer a single question get watched to the end and acted on.

Before you write the brief, finish this sentence: 'after watching, the viewer should understand ____'. That sentence is the video.

Brief, script, settings, video

The work splits into four steps, and only the last one costs anything.

  • Write the brief in a sentence or two, or paste a script you already have
  • Read the drafted narration and edit it, or ask for a rewrite with an instruction
  • Pick shape, voice, length and logo
  • Generate and download

Choosing a length

Length is a hard setting, and the narration is written to fill it.

Where explainers earn their keep

The same video usually has more than one home. A landscape version sits on a landing page and in sales emails; a portrait cut of the same idea works in social feeds.

  • Above the fold on a product or service page
  • In onboarding email, where text is often skipped
  • In a pitch or proposal, so the idea survives the meeting
  • In help centres, replacing a long written article

What it costs

Credits pay for rendering: 100 credits per minute of finished video, so 50 for thirty seconds and 200 for two minutes. New accounts start with 100 welcome credits. Script writing and rewriting are free.

If the finished film runs shorter than the length you ordered, you are refunded the difference automatically.

Changing a video after it is made

Open a finished video and choose to make changes. You can edit the narration, ask the AI to rewrite it to an instruction, change length, voice or shape, add a logo and your own images, and leave a note about what should be different.

That produces a brand new video in your library — the original stays where it is — and the credit cost is shown before you confirm.

Common questions

How long should an explainer video be?
Under two minutes for almost every purpose. Thirty seconds suits a single feature or a social post, a minute suits a product, and two minutes suits teaching a process.
Do I need a script to start?
No. A one-line brief is enough and a script is drafted for you, which you can then edit freely before anything is generated.
Can I get the video in more than one shape?
Each render is one shape. To get a portrait and a landscape version, make the second one with make changes and switch the shape.
Is the video private?
Yes. Videos are private to your account, shared only by an expiring link, by email or if you choose to add them to the public gallery.
