How to add explainer video to your agency service list
No animator, no kit, no studio quote. Here is how the service is packaged, produced and sold.
Most agencies avoid video because the traditional version of it is expensive, slow and staffed by people you would have to hire. Animated explainer video is different: the production is automated, the cost is measured in pence per second, and the part clients actually pay for — knowing what to say and how to say it — is work your agency already does every day.
Why explainer video sells so easily
Every client has something that is hard to explain: a product, a process, a price list, a piece of compliance. They already know their website copy is not landing. A 60-second film that makes it obvious is an easy yes, and it is a deliverable with no natural end — there is always another thing to explain.
What you are actually selling
You are not selling animation. You are selling clarity, speed and a finished asset the client can put on a landing page, in an email, in an onboarding sequence or on social. Price it as a marketing asset, not as production time.
- The script — the part that makes or breaks it, and the part only you can do.
- The look — their colours, their logo, their fonts.
- The formats — portrait for social, landscape for the site.
- The turnaround — same day rather than same month.
How the production works
Write or paste the words. Choose a length of 30, 60 or 120 seconds and an orientation. Open the Brand section and drop in the client''s colours, logo, fonts and any guidelines document. Generate. Edit the script and remake if it is not right. Then send it to the client for approval.
- 100 credits produces one finished minute.
- Scripts can be rewritten free — credits are only spent when you generate.
- If the finished film runs shorter than ordered, you are billed on actual seconds.
A service list you can copy
Keep the menu short. Three tiers convert better than seven.
| Package | What it includes | Suggested price |
|---|---|---|
| Single explainer | One 60-second video, one round of changes, MP4 in one format | £350 |
| Launch pack | One 90-second hero video plus three 30-second social cuts | £900 |
| Video retainer | Four videos a month, brand kept on file, 48-hour turnaround | £1,200/month |
Where the first sale usually comes from
Not from a new prospect. It comes from a client who already pays you for something else and has just asked a question that a video answers better than a document. Watch for the phrase "people keep asking us…" — that is a video brief.
What to do this week
Pick one existing client. Make a 60-second video about the thing they explain most often. Send it with no invoice attached and a single line: here is something we made, do you want more of these. That conversation closes far more often than a proposal does.
Make your first client video
Free to write and rewrite. Credits are only used when you generate.
Common questions
- Do I need a licence per client?
- No. You work from one agency account and add as many clients as you like. Credits are the only thing consumed.
- Can I resell the videos under my own name?
- Yes. The finished MP4 carries the client''s branding, not AutoScribble''s.
- What lengths can I offer?
- 30, 60 or 120 seconds. 60 seconds is the workhorse for a website hero or a social post.
- What if the client hates the first version?
- Edit the script and remake. The cost of the remake is shown before you confirm, and rewriting the script itself is free.
- Is this suitable for regulated clients like finance or healthcare?
- Yes — those are the clients with the most to explain. Upload their compliance or brand guidelines in the Brand section and the video is produced against them.
