Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

AutoScribble collects the email address you sign up with, the briefs and scripts you write, the videos you generate, and basic usage records. AutoScribble uses that information to make your videos, run your account and keep the service working. AutoScribble does not sell personal information. You can export, correct or delete your account data at any time.

Who we are

AutoScribble is a service operated by AutoThink Ltd, registered in England and Wales. AutoScribble turns a written idea or script into a narrated animated whiteboard explainer video. This policy covers autoscribble.com and the AutoScribble Android app. For any privacy question, write to info@autoscribble.com.

What we collect

We collect only what the service needs to work.

  • Account details: your email address, your name if you give one, your profile photo if you upload one, and your public username if you choose one.
  • What you create: briefs, scripts, video settings, logos and brand kits, finished videos and their versions.
  • Payment records: the amount, currency, date and the reference from our payment processor. Card numbers never reach our servers.
  • Usage records: pages viewed, videos watched, watch time, device type, approximate country from your IP address, and error reports.
  • Support messages: anything you send us through the support form or by email.

Why we use it

Each use has a purpose and a lawful basis under UK and EU data protection law.

  • To produce and store the videos you ask for, and to run your account — performance of our contract with you.
  • To take payment, apply credits and keep accurate financial records — contract and legal obligation.
  • To send service emails and notifications about your videos, credits and account — contract.
  • To keep the service secure, spot abuse and fix faults — legitimate interests.
  • To send occasional product news — consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Notifications

If you switch notifications on, we store a device token so we can reach that device. The token identifies the device, not you personally, and is deleted when you switch notifications off, sign out of the app or the device stops accepting them. You choose which kinds of notification you receive in Settings, and you can turn them off in the app or in your device settings.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of suppliers, each handling only what their job needs. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising.

  • Video rendering: Golpo, which receives the script and settings for the video being produced.
  • Narration voices: ElevenLabs, where you choose to use it, which receives the narration text.
  • Payments: Stripe, which handles the card details directly.
  • Email: SendGrid, which receives the recipient address and message.
  • Notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging, which receives the device token and the notification text.
  • Hosting and database: our cloud hosting provider, which stores the data described above.
  • Company logos: Logo.dev, which receives the company domain named in a script.
  • Website analytics: Google Analytics, for aggregate traffic figures.

Where your data is held

Our systems and several of our suppliers are based in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area and the United States. Where information travels outside the UK or EEA we rely on the standard contractual clauses or an equivalent approved safeguard in our contract with that supplier.

How long we keep it

Your account data, videos and scripts stay until you delete them or close your account. When you close your account we remove your profile, videos, scripts and brand kits. Financial records are kept for six years because tax law requires it, and security logs are kept for a short period. Deleted items may sit in encrypted backups for up to 30 days before they age out.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent for marketing. Write to info@autoscribble.com and we will answer within one month. You can delete your account yourself at any time in Settings. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner at ico.org.uk.

Children

AutoScribble is built for business and professional use and is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, write to info@autoscribble.com and we will remove it.

Cookies and similar technology

We use a sign-in cookie so you stay logged in, and we record page views and video views to understand how the service is used. We do not use advertising cookies.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes we update the date at the top of the page and, where the change is significant, tell account holders by email.

Common questions

Do you sell my information?
No. AutoScribble does not sell personal information and does not share it with advertisers. Information goes only to the suppliers listed on this page, each for a single job such as rendering a video or taking a payment.
Who can see the videos I make?
Your videos are private to your account by default. They appear in the public gallery only if you choose to put them there, credited to your public username. Share links you create are unlisted and expire.
How do I delete my account and everything in it?
Open Settings, scroll to Delete account, type DELETE and confirm. Your profile, videos, scripts and brand kits are removed. Financial records are kept for six years because tax law requires it.
What information do notifications use?
A device token, which identifies the device rather than you, plus the text of the notification itself. Turning notifications off in Settings deletes the token.
Where is my data stored?
In the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area and the United States, depending on the supplier. Transfers outside the UK and EEA are covered by standard contractual clauses in our supplier contracts.
