Getting more agency clients with a video they did not ask for
Prospects ignore proposals. They do not ignore sixty seconds about their own company.
Agency new business fails at the same point every time: the prospect cannot picture the work. Case studies are about somebody else, decks are about you, and a discovery call is a favour you are asking for. A finished sixty-second video about their business skips all of it — there is nothing to imagine, and the quality question answers itself in the first ten seconds.
Who to send to
Not everyone. This works on companies with something genuinely hard to explain and a website that is not doing it.
- Businesses whose homepage takes three paragraphs to say what they sell.
- Anyone with a complicated price list, a process or a compliance story.
- Companies that have just launched something and have no video for it.
- Clients of yours who use you for one channel and nothing else.
Where to find the script
On their own site. Take the About page, the product page and the two questions their FAQ answers first. Your job is to cut it to 140 words and put it in an order that makes sense. If you find yourself inventing facts, stop — go back and use their words.
The opening ten seconds decide everything
Start with their customer''s problem, not with their company name. "Most people shopping for [thing] cannot tell the difference between two quotes" outperforms "[Company] has been serving the region since 2011" every single time, and the watch-through data on your leads page will show you exactly that.
Follow-up that does not beg
You already know whether they watched. Use it.
| What happened | Follow-up | Timing |
|---|---|---|
| No open | Resend with a different subject line naming their product | Day 3 |
| Opened, watched under half | Ask which bit was wrong — people answer that question | Day 2 after open |
| Watched to the end | Ask if they want it in their brand colours, and mention the price | Same day |
| Bought it | Offer the next three as a package | Within 48 hours |
Turning one video into a retainer
A single purchase proves three things at once: they liked the work, they can spend money without a committee, and they have more things to explain. That is the moment to propose four a month — not a fresh pitch, just the obvious next step from something they already own.
How many to send
Ten well-made videos to well-chosen companies beat a hundred generic ones, and the platform is built that way on purpose — leads are capped per day and duplicate addresses are blocked. Treat it as new business, not as a mailshot.

Common questions
- Is it strange to send someone a video they never asked for?
- Only if it is generic. A video made specifically about their business, with their name and colours on it, reads as effort — which is exactly what outreach normally lacks.
- What if they use the free preview without paying?
- They cannot. The preview is watermarked across the frame and downloading is disabled until they buy.
- How long does one of these take to make?
- Around forty minutes once you are practised, most of it spent on the script.
- Should I include the price in the email?
- No. Let them watch it first. The price sits under the video where it is judged against something they have already seen and liked.
- Can I see whether it was watched?
- Yes — opens, how much was watched, repeat visits and purchases all show against that lead.
