You can make a narrated whiteboard explainer video from a phone. Desktop whiteboard editors are built for a mouse and a large canvas, so the phone-friendly route is a browser-based tool where you type a script and choose settings rather than drag drawings. The short answer
Timeline editors and phones fight each other: dragging drawn elements onto a timeline needs a mouse and a metre of screen. A script-first tool moves the whole job into typing and four taps, which a phone does perfectly well. That is why the phone-only route is realistic today and why portrait 9:16 is the sensible default when the video is going straight to social.

The phone-only run-through
This is the original element of this page: the exact sequence on a phone, with nothing installed. Timings are our judgement from doing it, not measured research, and there are no invented screenshots here — follow the steps on your own handset and you will see each screen for yourself.
STEP 1 — Open autoscribble.com in Safari or Chrome.
Nothing to install. Sign in or create an account.
Your account starts with 100 welcome credits.
STEP 2 — Tap the writing box on the home page and type
your idea in plain words, or paste a script you
already wrote in Notes or WhatsApp. One thumb is
enough; roughly 150 spoken words is one minute.
STEP 3 — Read the script back on screen and edit it.
Editing and rewriting are free. Credits are only
used when you generate the film.
STEP 4 — Make the four choices:
Orientation -> Portrait 9:16 (the default)
Voice -> two female, two male
Length -> 30s (50 credits), 60s (100),
120s (200 credits)
Logo -> optional
STEP 5 — Generate. A building screen shows progress while
the film is produced. You can lock the phone and
come back to it.
STEP 6 — Watch it full screen in your private library.

When to move to a desktop
Use a bigger screen when the script runs past two minutes, when you are checking a long script line by line against timings, or when you are producing a batch for a client and want several videos open at once. Writing on a phone is fine; proofreading two hundred words of narration on a phone is not our idea of a good evening.
Getting the video off your phone
The finished film downloads as an MP4 in one tap, so it goes straight into your camera roll and then into whichever app you post from. You can also send an expiring private share link, email it to saved recipients, or hand it to WhatsApp with a caption. Videos stay private unless you choose to add yours to the public gallery, where it is credited to your chosen public username.
