At Manor Farm, the animals worked all day. Everything they produced belonged to Mr. Jones.
They pulled his loads and filled his stores. Why were they still hungry?
One night, they gathered in the barn. Old Major had a different future to offer.
What if no human ruled them? What if every animal kept the fruits of its own work?
For the first time, freedom seemed possible. Together, they sang.
Then Jones fired his gun, and they scattered. For now, the farm was still his.
Three days later, Old Major died. But Snowball and Napoleon began sharing his ideas.
The animals returned to work, carrying something Jones could not see. Nothing had changed on the farm, but the dream had begun.
