Then hunger broke their patience. When Jones confronted them, one animal resisted, then another.
The humans fought back. Boxer charged, Snowball surged forward, and the animals stood together.
Jones and his men fled through the gate. The animals stopped: no master remained.
For a moment, victory felt impossible. The fields, the barn, the food were theirs.
